Scythe Ninja Plus Plus Revesion B Fanless Passive or Active Heatpipe CPU Cooler , The choice is yours !
The New Ninja Plus CPU Cooler NOW Includes a optional fan for the high performance user
One thing we like about Scythe's CPU coolers is that the product names always bring a smile to our face. This is no exception for their latest fanless cooler / Or Active CPU Cooler, the Ninja Plus ! Why it is called the Ninja is anyone's guess, but this new cooler truly provides cutting-edge performance with or without a fan !
The Ninja is a 100% passive CPU cooling Silent heatsink. This means from a noise point of view it is totally silent. Or install the 120mm included fan for greater heat disapation. Unlike the NCU-2005, instead of using a heatlane to transfer the heat away from the CPU and to the surrounding fins, the Ninja Plus uses six heatpipes. This work very similar to the heatlane but the manufacturing process is cheaper, making the Ninja Plus cheaper than the NCU-2005.
As with all fanless coolers, the Ninja is restricted to the type of CPU you are intending to use with it. We recommend using a fanless cooler if your CPU is a Pentium 4 Northwood (any speed), or an Athlon 64 3500+ or lower. If you intend to use the cooler with a socket 775 processor or a CPU faster than an Athlon 64 3500+ we recommend you install the 120mm fan include for higher performance sockets. The Ninja Plus is supplied with two retaining clips that allow the included 120mm fan to be installed.
It is imperative that after installation the nija cpu cooler with out the fan you monitor your CPU temperature very closely, making sure you are happy with the results. If you believe your CPU temperature is too high, try increase the airflow through the system. If the CPU temperature is still too high then ininstall the 120mm fan include in the package. Just as long as you do not constantly push the CPU to 100%, then there should be no reason why you can not enjoy the silence of this cooler with out the 120mm fan. Another option widely used by quiet computing enthudiast is up grading the 120mm fan to the quitest fan on the market the Inaudible sFlex 8Dba Fan
The CPU Cooler actually does not need a high speed loud fan to disapate the heat just a moderate anount of airflow in the right direction will allow you to injoy a silent computing envierment
